Vintage & Repurposed Kitchen Soap Station

Vintage & Repurposed Kitchen Soap Station | Denise on a Whim
I'm finally ready to share my kitchen decor updates with you!
Woot Woot!
It's been a lengthy process, mainly because I've been doing it piecemeal and finding most things at the thrift store.
But I'm ready to show off some of my new decor!
Today I'm sharing my new soap station!
My soap station is only new to me. There's really nothing new about it.
Basically everything is a thrift store find or something purchased previously that I am repurposing for my kitchen.
But, in my book, that makes it all the better!Vintage & Repurposed Kitchen Soap Station | Denise on a Whim
First of all, every kitchen sink needs a scrub brush.
Mine has always been sitting behind my faucet.
It was neither pretty nor very practical.
Now, my scrub brushes are tucked neatly away in this milk bottle. Glass Milk Bottle to Hold Kitchen Scrub Brushes | Denise on a Whim
My soap storage is one of my favorite new things.
Before, my dish soap and dishwasher detergent were in the cupboard under the sink.
It worked, but they weren't nearly as handy as I would have liked.
Now I'm using an antique bottle for my dish soap and a vintage coke bottle for my dishwasher detergent.
The coke bottle is my favorite.
I purchased a set of bottle pourers for these and they work great!
Now both soaps are handy and easy to grab when I need them.

Still haven't found the perfect container for my hand soap, but I imagine I'll run across something cute for that, too!

All of my soaps are sitting in an awesome thrift store find:
a french cast iron enamelware pot!
I love enamelware and this Le Creuset pan only cost me $1!!!
Someone obviously didn't know what they had in their hand because these pots are pretty pricey!

I was so excited when I got it that I had to throw a pic of it on Instagram!

The pan didn't look quite right sitting on the counter, so I made this small pedestal stand out of a thrift store candlestick and some circular piece of wood I had lying around.
I scuffed up the finish on both pieces and stained it with Special Walnut.

I'm so happy with my vintage soap station now that I don't even mind doing the dishes!

  2. Oh! How creative it is using the regular objects of the household and turn them into something funky. I wish I could be that innovative in writing my Dissertation Abstract UK manner. I have to submit the report in two weeks and I haven’t even started writing it. Only God can save me now.
